This one is kind of hard because I usually read books that are recommended for me and are usually popular. The only book I can really think of at the top of my head is The Pledge by Kimberly Derting. It's sort of a well known book but not so I thought this would be a good suggestion. I would recommend more, but my brain is filled with City of Bones at the moment and I can't really think of another book at the moment.
