And as they work together, Juliette will discover that everything she thought she knew - about Warner, her abilities, and even Adam - was wrong.

Review - No Spoilers

Ignite Me was everything I wanted for the last book in one of my favourite series ever! I was so nervous since there has been major uproar about Allegiant and so many things can go wrong in such a crucial part of a series. But Mafi kept up with her clever writing and continued to put us fans through hell with the many, many feels!

I experienced, sadness, happiness, anger and many more raw emotions and it just felt like I was getting hit with a tidal wave over and over.

The characters have grown on me so much and it almost feels like I actually know them. Juliette went through some major character development and I'm so proud of how she turned out in the end. At the start in Shatter Me I couldn't help but roll my eyes because Juliette is the queen at throwing pity parties. It get's to the point where it almost seems like she is self-absorbed and doesn't realise the gravity of the situation but you have to take into account what's she's been through.

My second most favourite character is Kenji! He is just tooooo damn funny and he can lighten any situations.

"Hey - jazz hands!" Kenji barks. "Get your ass back over here." He makes it a point to look as irritated as possible. "Back to work. And this time, focus. You're not an ape. Don't just throw your shit everywhere."

Although he never takes a situation too seriously he also has his moments were you can see his vulnerability. Ignite Me focused a lot on there friendship which I loved because in previous books Juliette is so depressed, she tends to not notice that people actually care about her. Kenji would be the best big brother, best friend, boyfriend etc. He just fits every roll. This book was not always Juliette confiding in Kenji, it also had moments when it was the other way round so we get to see a lot more of his character. He is often taken for granted which sucks.

I think most people don't enter this awesome trilogy because they cringe at the fact that it is a heavy love-triangle. Well I feel sorry for you because you're missing out on one of the best love-triangles ever. It's not she's one guy one page and then the other the next. You yourself can't choose either and I think that proves that Mafi succeeded in making such a good one. I completely detested the supposed villain but then  my hate flipped to the one character that I thought I would always love.

I am Team Warner all the way and to all of you who are Team Adam, wait until you read Ignite Me and you'll understand. Adam to me was bland and Warner had a true back-story to him. For some reason I love characters who have a tortured past because it makes them have more depth to them. Warner had that brave exterior but inside he's just as vulnerable and caring as the next person. Adam can go die in a whole! Obviously you can see my opinion changed dramatically and there's a reason. It's as simple as he's an asshole who doesn't know how to treat a girl and there's nothing more to it. (Sorry Team Adam fans)

Thank you Mafi for those heated and romantic scenes...

Seriously if you haven't read this trilogy YOU NEED TO NOW! If you want to put yourself through some serious feels and conflicted emotions then this is just for you. This is one of my favourite series and I love how it ended. But to me it ended too quickly and I hope Tahereh Mafi continues to write because I've fallen in love with her writing. This novel will forever have an imprint on me and it's going to be quite hard to find another dystopia to beat this one.

  1. Lovely review, Francoise!!!! I cannot agree more with everything you said. You're totally right that Mafi's series has the best love triangle ever. Also, I loved that you mentioned about Ignite Me focusing on friendship as well because it really does! It was so awesome reading about Kenji! And of course those hot sexy scenes and all the Warner moments are worth EVERYTHING!

  2. THIS IS SUCH AN AMAZING REVIEW I AGREE! Okay, I'm literally 30 pages from finishing Unravel Me and agree with every point. Juliette still annoys me, she's such a drama queen! You are SO RIGHT! She's the best at throwing pity parties. Get over yourself Juliette and deal with it! Ahem, sorry. I find Adam really bland even though I don't want to. I'm leaning toward Warner because, as you said, he's so much more interesting and got so many layers. But then he'll do something horrible or shoot someone in the head, and I'm like WHY WARNER WHY. I will probably turn team Warner when I read Ignite Me, which hopefully I shall buy this weekend!
    Brilliant review Francoise!! :Dxx

  3. I've only read Shatter Me, but I'm literally dying to read the rest of the series! I'm edging towards throwing my book buying ban out the window and just buying the rest of the series because they seem to be on very high demand at the library.
