WHEN SILENCE IS ALL THAT'S LEFT, CAN THE TRUTH FINALLY BE HEARD?

Nora Grey can't remember the past five months of her life. After the initial shock of waking up in a cemetery and being told that she has been missing for weeks - with no one knowing where she was or who she was with - she tried to get her life back on track. Go to school, hang out with her best friend, Vee, and dodge mom's creepy new boyfriend.

But there is this voice in the back of her head, an idea that she can almost reach out and touch. Visions of angel wings and unearthly creatures that have nothing to do with the life she knows.

And this unshakable feeling that a part of her is missing.

Then Nora crosses paths with a sexy stranger, whom she feels a mesmerizing connection to. He seems to hold all the answers...and her heart. Every minute she spends with him grows more and more intense until she realizes she could be falling in love. Again.

Review - No Spoilers

I absolutely love this series. It's been a while since I've actually enjoyed a series enough to continue it all the way and I'm planning on finishing the last book straight away. I don't know what it is about this series that makes it so compelling for me to read but it's one of my favourite paranormal romances I've read in a while. I think what I love about it is that I'm finally reading something that's not all vampires so it's nice to take a break. I never would have thought I would like angels so much!

Plot

Just when I thought there was nothing more this series can go on with the cliff hanger on the end of Crescendo surprised me greatly. The author opened up a whole new crisis that has overtaken the previous one and the next book will truly test the relationship between the main character and love interest. So pumped!

Characters
I said this series suffered from the 'No-parent Syndrome' but this time round a lot of it was based on her mum but yet here mum was still not exactly present that much during the story. I also felt like the main characters best friend was left in the dark heaps and she was only there when it was convenient for the MC. This story was mainly based on the MC, love interest and the 'villain' so it became a little unrealistic.

Overall
I'm sorry this is such a short review but I've decided to do a whole series review at the end. I'm a little upset that it'll be the last book in the series...what will I have then??? I'm thinking of completing some standalones and review books and then finishing the City of Bones series and possibly starting the Infernal Devices. My next review should be soon and I would really appreciate the feedback. And as a last note, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. I don't really like this series but I'm glad Silence was a strong follow up to Crescendo for you. I agree that Silence was a little unrealistic character-wise but oh, well.

    HAPPY 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Great review! I read a few angel books a couple years back and got so bored with them I avoided the genre for a while... but I've heard such good things about this series so I MIGHT pick them up! I always find it strange when parents never seem to interfere when the MC disappears for weeks on end or something, it's so not realistic at all! Unless they don't have any parents. I think that's why a lot of authors make their MCs orphans - just so they don't have to worry about that aspect of it!

You MUST start The Infernal Devices trilogy (I prefer it over The Mortal Instruments)! xD

  3. I remember reading tons of good reviews for the book a while ago, and then some negative ones, but I wanted to read it but never got around to it. I think I'm going to have to put back on my TBR! :) Thanks for sharing and happy new year!

  4. HAAPPYY NNEEEWW YEAAR. FIRST REVIEW OF THE YEAR, YEEAAAHHHH!
I'm sorry Francoise, I actually hate this series, but I did read it a long time ago. I think Nora is so stupid, and I agree about the 'No Parent Syndrome'! So true!
Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying them all, and it's cool you can read them consecutively :D
It is good in the sense it's fairly different, no matter how much I love Vampires, they are used a LOT.
    HAHA LOVE THE GIF.
    Great review Francoise :))
