Blogger or Wordpress?
I've been thinking of some time now to move to Wordpress but I'm really conflicted on whether or not too. I love my blog the way it is now but every time I see someone's blog who has wordpress I just think it looks a lot more cleaner and sophisticated.
I've heard you don't have as much freedom on Wordpress with the design but I wanted to ask anyone who has it what they think of it. Have you had any issues with it? Is it easy to use? These are just a couple questions I have about it. If you have moved from Blogger to Wordpress please tell me what you think!

I think that WordPress.com is over limited. You can't use JavaScript, at least not easily, and depending on the theme you choose, you can't customize it very much. You can't change fonts, colors, and other simple things. The post editor is easier to use, though, in my opinion. If you don't mind lack of customization and limitations, then wordpress is fantastic. I considered moving to blogger, but instead decided to selfhost using wordpress.org. It costs but I think it's worth it, if you're willing to spend money. If not, I'd recommend sticking to blogger. You have way more options, I think. :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about Wordpress but from what I've heard, Blogger is better unless you want to pay. The free Wordpress apparently has very few changes and customizations avaliable whereas the self hosted has plenty and is very pretty to the eye. If you are willing to pay then I say go ahead but if not I'd stick with blogger.
ReplyDeleteI think if you're thinking of moving to Wordpress, definitely go with self-hosted and not the free Wordpress because the customisations are even more limited than Blogger! Wordpress is pretty easy to use, not too complicated although the design might be harder to handle. If you're willing to make an investment in your blog, I would say move to Wordpress since being self-hosted is going to cost a bit but if not, stick to Blogger :)
ReplyDeleteI switched over from Blogger and haven't looked back! There's a lot more freedom with WP but there's also a lot of learning curves when you use it. It all depends on whether you're willing to part with money for your blog to host it and buy themes that really allow you to do what you want with it :)
ReplyDeleteI had the same dilemma, to switch or not to switch. In the end I stuck with Blogger. Wordpress was too basic and I really haven't any idea about hosting. I needed something fuss free, created a new template for myself and now happy to keep using Blogger. As one of the other comments said, unless you don't mind paying for hosting and know a bit about it, I'd stick with Blogger. Your blog is lovely just as it is :)
