2 Diva's Bookish Discussion - Allegiant Release Party
Sunny and I went to the book release party for Allegiant, the 3rd and last installment to the Divergent series. It was held in the Dymocks store in the city and we sat in front of a stage where 2 hosts spoke to us about the new book. We were greeted with cupcakes with each faction symbol on it and a gift-bag with 2 posters, faction badges, an Allegiant t-shirt and a letter from Veronica Roth herself.
We also went through a little quiz and each person who got an answer right got to pick a prize which consisted of well-known books. I sadly didn't get chosen to answer a question but Sunny was luckier than me. Some fans cam dressed up and also won a $30 Dymocks gift voucher.
Sunny won this:
Amongst the fans, Sunny and I saw some familiar faces from the previous book event we went to for Penguin Teen.
Overall I love going to book events because it's nice seeing other fans and feeling like you're a part of a strong community. It's also good because we meet other bloggers who are in a Australia and get the latest bookish news. I think book stores need to hold more events because it's not very often that we get to them. I have already started reading Allegiant but I'm trying to take it slow as it's the last book and I don't want the series to end but stay posted as my review will most likely be up soon.

I had a great time and it was really good to catch up! It was such a fun event and I had a really fun time. I'm reading one of the books I won now, Spellcaster. I'm trying to get into the halloween spirit and it's about witches. I still can't get over how great the goody bags were. Allegiant broke my heart!!

DeleteThat's so cool that you got to a release party for Allegiant and meet other bloggers! I hope to one day live in an area with a bookstore that holds events like that. :)
